This rustic Italian project shows the beauty of true custom work. Italian artisans created a complete interior with walnut cabinetry, architectural paneling, carved details, a custom bar, and a full wine cellar.
Rather than designing one piece of furniture, this project involved an entire room. Every major element works together to create a warm and refined Italian interior.
Solid Walnut Millwork
The project features extensive millwork in solid walnut. The work includes wall panels, wainscoting, doors, moldings, beams, cabinetry, and wine cellar construction.
Walnut burl veneers add depth and movement to selected panels and inserts. As a result, the room has a rich natural character without losing its architectural structure.
Custom Bar Area
The custom bar creates one of the main focal points of the room. Italian artisans handcrafted it in solid walnut with walnut burl veneer inserts.
Hand-carved corbels support the bar and add old-world detail. In addition, brown leather bar stools bring warmth, comfort, and a finished look to the seating area.
Behind the bar, custom cabinetry frames the service area. The mirror backing, carved details, and arched openings help connect the bar to the wine cellar beyond.
Solid Walnut Wine Cellar
The wine cellar continues the same level of craftsmanship. Solid walnut wine racks, wide moldings, display areas, and hand-carved corbels give the room a custom architectural feel.
Brick accents add rustic character and contrast beautifully with the walnut. Together, the woodwork and brick create a warm wine cellar with a distinctly Italian atmosphere.
Architectural Details
Throughout the space, carved and fitted details give the project its character. Arched walnut doorways, raised panels, wide moldings, carved corbels, and hand-carved capitals all contribute to the finished design.
The project also included a main entrance door in solid walnut with leaded glass panels. In addition, Italian artisans created solid walnut beams with hand-carved medallions and corbels.
Mantel Cabinetry and Custom Archway
The cabinetry surrounding the mantel includes hand-carved pilasters finished in silver leaf. This detail adds contrast and a more formal accent to the warmth of the walnut.
An archway with fluted columns and hand-carved capitals adds another architectural feature. A custom white finish gives this area a lighter appearance while keeping the same handcrafted detail.
